Former Council Executive Director confirmed as next director of National Park Service!

We are excited to share that our very own former Executive Director, Chuck F. Sams III, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the next director of the National Park Service, and its first Native American director. We share Interior Secretary Deb Haaland's proclamation that Sams will bring to NPS "an incredible asset as we work to conserve and protect our national parks to make them more accessible for everyone." It is wonderful to see the Council's longstanding commitment to creating more inclusive natural spaces reflected at the highest level of public lands management through this inspired choice.
