Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of birds as we embark on a memorable journey through a local birding trail. This unique event is designed to celebrate the diverse birding community and provide an inclusive space for BIPOC individuals to connect with nature and each other.

Our session will encompass a leisurely walk along a scenic trail at Whitaker Ponds Nature Park, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature while exploring the rich and vibrant habitats that surround us. Along the way, our knowledgeable guide will share insights into the local ecosystem, pointing out the fascinating bird and plant species that call this place home.

But this workshop isn't just about birds - it's about our profound cultural connections to the natural world. We will engage in thought-provoking discussions about the historical and contemporary relationships between BIPOC communities and the land. By understanding the stories and experiences woven into the landscape, we aim to deepen our appreciation for the intersectionality of nature and culture.

Whether you are a seasoned birder or new to this captivating hobby, this workshop welcomes all levels of expertise and aims to create a safe and inclusive space for BIPOC individuals to explore the wonders of birding.

So come spread your wings and join us for a memorable journey into nature!

This event is being held in partnership with the amazing folks over at Through the Trees Collective.
