We are offering free 2 hour rentals of our canoes and a limited number of kayaks. Each canoe comfortably seats 2 people, a 3rd can fit in the middle if desired, and comes with a life jacket, paddle and whistle for each person. Each canoe must have at least 1 person who is an adult (18+). Please arrive on time as all rentals begin and end at the time you sign up for. If you are interested in reserving more than 1 boat, you must fill out a separate registration form.
Getting There: Our staff and volunteers will be available to check you in at the boat launch at Whitaker Ponds - look out for the Columbia Slough Watershed Council sign. Parking is free. Taking public transportation? Bus #75 stops at NE 47th Ave and Columbia Blvd. Walk north on NE 47th Ave about 0.25 miles, and Whitaker Ponds Nature Park will be on your right.
What to bring: Pack along water, a snack and dress for the weather! We recommend that large bags are left at home as they will likely get wet. We will have some small snacks to share and cold drinks to share.
Accessibility: A porta potty is available. Previous paddling experience is not required. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the canoe launch, part of it on an uneven gravel path.
We will have at least 1 person who speaks Spanish helping to lead this event. We will have safety people stationed on the water should you need help while paddling.

Cómo llegar: Nuestro personal y voluntarios estarán disponibles para registrarlo en el lanzamiento del bote en Whitaker Ponds - busque el letrero del Columbia Slough Watershed Council. El estacionamiento es gratuito. ¿Usando el transporte público? El autobús #75 se detiene aproximadamente a 0.25 millas de la entrada Whitaker Ponds.
