Trade in your golf clubs for a shovel and come join us at Heron Lakes Golf Course for another edition of Stewardship Saturdays. This is always a special event as this course sits on the former site of the City of Vanport, and we will discuss the social and historical legacy left in the wake of the floods that destroyed what was once Oregon’s second largest city. Come help add some critical riparian habitat to out-of-play areas at Heron Lakes. Face coverings and 6 ft social distancing required. Please see our full COVID safety protocol here.
Meeting Location: Heron Lakes Golf Course, 3500 N Victory Blvd, Portland, OR 97217. Meet at the small parking lot near the entrance (on your right as you pull in).
Public Transportation: Take the #11 bus line, get off at N Marine & Portland Rd, and walk toward W Delta Park. Turn right and walk down W Delta Park, then turn right at N Vanport Rd until you reach the parking lot.
Restroom: There is a restroom available at this site.
Accessibility: Work will take place on soft, uneven ground within out-of-play areas on the golf course.
