Join the Slavic Community Center and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council for a paddle in NE Portland! This is an all ages event, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are welcome to bring their own boat, or reserve a seat in one of ours! This event is exclusively for Slavic community members. Ukrainian and Russian interpretation will be available throughout the event.
Getting There: We will meet at 16650 NE Airport Way, when you arrive, go left through the gate. Free parking is available. Taking public transportation? Bus #74 and #87 drop riders off on Airport Way, ~0.2 miles from the meeting location. You must arrive no later than 10:05am as the gate will lock when the event starts.
What to bring: Leave large bags and backpacks at home. Pack along water and come prepared for the weather. Boats, life jackets, and paddles will be provided. Additionally, once we are done with the paddle, a light lunch will be provided from a local Slavic deli.
Accessibility: There is no restroom on site.This requires participants to be able into and out of a canoe from a dock as well as stay seated for ~1.5 hours. Previous paddling experience is not required.
