BIPOC Canoe & Birding Paddle with POC Outdoors

  • Whitaker Ponds Nature Park 7040 NE 47th Avenue Portland United States (map)

Experience the wonders and wildlife of the Slough up close with this free canoe and birding paddle, hosted in partnership with POC Outdoors. Ryan Gilpin, an arborist by trade, and a bird enthusiast, will be leading us on a birding adventure along the Slough! Council staff will provide the boats, paddles and life-vests—all you need to do is sign up at the link below and show up at Whitaker Ponds Nature Park at the start of the paddle!

Note: We hope to explicitly make space in this paddle for our communities of color. Please only register for this workshop if you identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and/or as a person of color. Similar paddles available to the general public are listed on our events page.
