Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council and SOLVE for a cleanup where MLK crosses the Columbia Slough. This area contains a high concentration of litter that poses a threat to public safety and environmental quality. This cleanup is not family-friendly or suitable for anyone under the age of 18 due to an increased presence of hazardous materials. Safety guidelines will be put in place before the cleanup begins.
Getting There: Volunteers will be meeting at FMI Truck Sales & Service. We will walk to the cleanup location together from there. Taking public transportation? Take the TriMet 6 Bus to NE MLK and Columbia Blvd. Walk 0.3 miles or about 8 minutes to the meeting destination.
What To Bring: Pack along water, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy close toed shoes. Work gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, cold drinks and light snacks will be provided for you.
Accessibility: Volunteers can expect to work along uneven terrain. There are no restrooms on site.
