UPDATE: There are no remaining seats in Columbia Slough Watershed Council boats. We still welcome volunteers, however they must bring their own boat.
Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council for an on-water cleanup of the Columbia Slough in NE Portland - we’ll be working to remove a large pile of tires from the Slough and banks. Participants can bring their own boat, or reserve a seat in one of ours. This is for people 14 and older, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Getting There: Street parking is available along the shoulder of NE Glassplant Rd. Taking public transportation? Bus #87 makes the closest stop to the area by dropping riders off at NE 105th & Simpson, a 0.2 mile walk.
What To Bring: Pack along water, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy close toed shoes/muck boots - be prepared to get dirty! Work gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, drinks and light snacks will be provided for you. *Don't have a warm/waterproof jacket? Reach out to Amanda.
Accessibility: This event requires participants to nagigate uneven/gravel terrain from the parking area to the launch. This is a relatively short distance, and support will be provided by all event leaders to get everyone and their boats to the water. There will be no restroom on site. Previous paddling experience is not required.
