Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council and bird walk leader, Ryan Gilpin, for a late summer bird walk at Smith & Bybee Wetlands Natural Area, one of the country's largest urban wetlands. This free event is open to all ages.
What to bring: Pack along water, a snack and binoculars if you have them. Don't have binoculars? No problem! We will have some available for borrow during the event.
Getting There: We will meet at the boat launch at Smith & Bybee Wetlands Natural Area, located just past the main parking lot - look out for the Columbia Slough Watershed Council sign. Parking is free, but may require a short walk from the main parking lot to the launch area. Taking public transportation? Bus #11 stops on the 5300 block of N Marine Dr, about 0.5 miles from the entrance to Smith & Bybee.
Accessibility: We will be following a gentle paved trail with some tree roots which ends at a wheelchair accessible viewing platform. The parking and restrooms are wheelchair accessible as well.
