The Council's New Kayak and Canoe Rental Program!

Thank you for your interest in our kayak and canoe rental program. Our reservation system will be online and ready by June 22nd. Public boat rentals will be available starting on June 30th, every other Tuesday from 3-7pm at Whitaker Ponds, and select Saturday’s at both Kelley Point Park and NE 166th and NE Airport Way from 9-5pm. If however, these dates do not work for you or your family, please contact our Community Partnerships & Events Director at Ryan.Banning@columbiaslough.org to try and arrange a new time.

With regards to the Council’s new health and safety concerns regarding COVID-19, we will be staggering our reservations to keep our in-person gathering low, and have developed new cleaning practices for our boats, paddles and life vests to ensure everyone’s safety.

* In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, we do ask that groups rent boats only with individuals whom they are living with.

* For your safety and ours, no boat, paddle, or life jacket will be re-used within the same day. Each day, our staff will sanitize all boats, paddles, and life jackets to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep everyone healthy.

* It will be mandatory for your group, all staff, and our volunteers to wear appropriate masks at all times while on land. While on the water, we ask that you are mindful of your distance relative to other boats while on the Slough and take necessary precautions regarding whether or not you should put your mask on.

* For everyone’s safety, we are asking our community to NOT schedule a paddle reservation if you or anyone in your household is developing one or many of these symptoms listed on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
