This year’s report is filled with information about how CSWC worked to fulfill our mission during FY23 through advocacy for our watershed and community-based programming and outreach. It highlights some of the amazing work of our stewardship, events, volunteer and education programs, and the growth of the organization throughout the year!
A few highlights from July 2022 to June 2023 include:
Community Programs hosted 50 paddling events (including public, school, and culturally-specific paddles), 14 free bird walks, 6 Slough Science Events, and brought back biking events.
Stewardship engaged 538 volunteers, installed 5,682 plants, and has 13.75 acres of active habitat restoration.
Slough School engaged 4,433 students through 162 classroom lessons, 106 watershed field trips, and 32 paddles.
Hired two new staff positions, helping to increase organizational and programming capacity.
Throughout the year, CSWC continued our efforts to advance equity in access to the outdoors and provide green workforce development through strategic outreach and partnerships with local organizations. This year, we expanded that effort by hiring a new staff position and working directly with our partners.
