Newly Released: Whitaker Ponds Soundwalk!
Ase by Amenta Abioto
Over the years, Whitaker Ponds has been the site of many fabulous art projects, from a collaborative Bird Blind (shown in the making at right) and Handmade Ceramic Classes in the Whitaker gazebo by artist Maya Vivas to NAYA’s Columbia Slough Creek College and the 2012 Ribbon of Agua mural on the park’s north side. We’d like to thank all the artists that have helped expand our appreciation of this special park through their creative contributions!
Today, we would like to share a wonderful new art project with you: a socially distant SOUNDWALK at Whitaker Ponds! Ase is an introspective journey through Whitaker Ponds Nature Park by composer Amenta Abioto.
Here are a few words about the soundwalk from Third Angle New Music:
This soundwalk is a mediation for the heart and a reflection on life, death, our connections, and the eternal-ness of our beings. The walk will serve as a reminder that our time on Earth is most precious and every moment is a wonder to be explored. A musical portal into the heart.
So….grab your mask and head to Whitaker Ponds Nature Park for a 40-minute soundwalk! All you have to do is plug in your headphones, open your ears, and stroll. Download and learn more here:
