Stewardship Saturday: PWB Pump Station Restoration Planting

Stewardship Saturday: PWB Pump Station Restoration Planting

Saturday November 09, 9:00am - 12:00pm

Help us plant native shrubs at a site where Portlanders get their drinking water. This unique spot is connected to the Big Four Corners Natural Area and is the location of a Portland Water Bureau pump station for the Columbia South Shore Well Field. Groundwater from the CSSWF is used as a secondary source for customers served by the Bull Run supply and also provides supplemental supply during the summer high demand season.

Please dress for the weather and wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy shoes. We will provide gloves, tools, training, coffee/tea, and snacks. This is a family-friendly event and volunteers of all ages are welcome. Volunteers under 14 years of age must have an adult present. All other youth volunteers must have an adult sign them in. To inquire about site accessibility, please contact Rachel Walsh, Volunteer Coordinator, at
